VORCHAN

The vorchan is a mid-sized avian predator with a wingspan of approximately one and one-half meters. It is a popular hunting bird among the Centauri elite. Onvorcha is typically practiced by Centauri nobles as a curiosity, although it is a growing sport among the Guildsmasters. Although the origin of onvorcha is vague, many scholars (all non-Centauri) cite that the Xon originated the practice, using the vorchan as warbirds. The Centauri "civilized" the practice in the closing decades of te Centauri-Xon War — using the vorchan to track fleeing Xon.
